“Halfies” and Third Culture Kids take to The Couch Outdoors, in personally significant Aussie landscapes to discuss cultural identity; being other than the mainstream and using art as a medium of expression.

SYNOPSIS

Thai-Australian Artist and Filmmaker Arun Ketsirat helps other “half- and-half” and Third Culture Kids to visually express their personal challenges as she delves into her own identity puzzle: early years growing up in a remote Thai village; parents with a generational, cultural and educational chasm; relocating and dislocating to Australia as a teen; marrying at 20; surviving domestic violence; and divorcing at 25. Seated on The Couch Outdoors, in personally significant Aussie landscapes, they discuss cultural identity, share their individual challenges, successes and curiosity of their bi- or multi- cultural worlds; while creating visual, artistic expressions of the guest’s inner world, as a means of processing and gaining greater perspective.
